Help with a crossword puzzle :p...HELP!!?

ok so we get this crossword puzzle the other day and it is almost done, only 1 word left.The clue is "president has this power" and the word already has : A E P O _ _ T ( 2 letters missing).I CANNOT figure this word out. Any ideas?
