If we are worried about a thinning ozone layer, why can't we just pump ozone into the atmosphere?

Lots of effort is exerted in reducing emissions/elements that supposedly cause the erosion of the ozone layer. Can scientists figure out a way to pump ozone to replace the lost ones?
